The exhibition PLAYA! at Bonniers Konsthall in Stockholm, takts its outset from the famous parole, ‘Under the cobblestones, the Beach!’. Through painting, sculpture, installation and social situations, the exhibition brings together a wide range of artists from different generations, based in Sweden and across the Nordic region.

The world is unraveling. Life, as always, has an end. Between the existential poles of mercy and hope, the exhibition explores the condition of art and humanity – and offers grace and hope at the end of time.

In creating the visual identity for the exhibition, we were inspired by the force and rhythm of the protest movement that PLAYA! evokes. We looked to the print press of the offset machine — working hard to meet the deadline of tomorrow’s news outlet — emphasizing a slight mismatch in the outcome, but a strong headline and clear message.

It felt natural to use the four values of CMYK to vibrate in the animation and preserve the variations of mismatch in the printed folder.
