Puruma

For the annual exhibition at Wanås Konst, artist Atang Tshikare was invited by then Creative Leader and Curator Milena Høgsberg to create a new sculptural work for the forest, which became Puruma.

This catalogue offers an in-depth exploration through texts by Høgsberg and curator Filipa Ramos, delving into Tshikare’s Puruma as well as his earlier works.

It features two image sections: the first focuses on the newly created Puruma, while the second presents a selection of previous works—introducing us to Tshikare’s practice, which spans over 20 years. Tshikare is based and has his daily practice in Cape Town.
